Passport
If you want to go in West Africa, you need a valid passport (valid more than 6 months after your return date).

Visa
Each person who isn’t a national of West Africa absolutely needs a visa to go to Togo. To obtain your visa, you need to go to the Togolese Embassy in your country, with these documents :
     - round way flight tickets (or booking confirmation)
     - passport
     - 2 identity pictures
     - Cash payment : price for 1 month visa = 30€ / price for 3 month visa = 50€
A form will be filled at the Embassy

Vaccines and International Certificate of Vaccinations
You HAVE TO be vaccinated against Yellow Fever.
It is also recommended that you be vaccinated against Hepatitis B, and have a treatment against Malaria. Indeed, there is no vaccine against Malaria. Nevertheless, some effective preventive medicines exist, that your doctor can prescribe you. The International Certificate of Vaccinations is often asked for while arriving in the airports of African countries.

Flight tickets
The best solution : on the internet consult ticketing websites for prices (Promovacances, Bourse des Vols…), or try directly on the websites of various airlines (Royal Air Maroc, Air France…). You can also buy your flight tickets through a travel agency : they will have good information regarding dates and prices of all airlines.

What you will need :
     - sleeping bag
     - mosquito net
     - personal flashlight
     - first-aid kit
     - toiletries
     - rain-proof jacket
     - sweaters, pullovers (it's cold during the night)
     - games and musical instruments

Donations
Your donations of medicines, clothes, school supplies, books, condoms,…are welcome ! They will be distributed to the local population during our actions and missions.

Currency
Exchange rate : 1 euro = 655.5 francs CFA
You can exchange currency, and use your visa card in some of the banks.
Travelers checks are exchangeable in all banks.

Time zone
GMT (UTC+0). When it’s 12 p.m. in Lome (Togo), it’s 11 a.m. in Paris (France) in winter, 10 a.m. in summer.

Surface area :
56,000 km2 (21,925 sq mi). The country is bordered on the North by Burkina-Faso, on the West by Ghana, and on the East by the Republic of Benin.

Population :
6 million residents.

Climate :
Equatorial in the South, Sahelian in the North.
Four seasons :
- a long dry season, from December to March
- a long rainy season, from April to June
- a short dry season, July and August, very nice
- a short rainy season, starting the second half of September until the end of October

Official Language :
French.
Two major dialects : Ewe in the South, Kabye in the North.
